Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 June 2026

CommitJobs (“CommitJobs”, “we”, “us”) is a GitHub-gated job board operated by Daisuke Adachi. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have. Questions: [email protected].

Information we collect

  • From GitHub. When you sign in, GitHub shares your name, email, username, avatar, and public profile and repository data. GitHub login is required to use CommitJobs.
  • Profile you create. If you list yourself in the developer directory, the headline, bio, skills, work preference, availability, and links you add.
  • Postings and applications. Job posts you publish and applications (including any note) you submit.
  • Payments. When you pay a listing fee, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number; we keep a record of the transaction (amount, date, status).
  • Technical. A session cookie to keep you signed in, and basic server logs.

How we use it

  • To run the service: show profiles and postings, match developers to roles, and let people apply.
  • To send transactional and notification email (you can opt out of notification types in your settings).
  • To process listing-fee payments through Stripe.
  • To prevent abuse and keep the platform to people who write code.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your GitHub history to algorithmically rank you.

What is public

Your developer profile (if you choose to list yourself) and any job you publish are publicly visible — that is the point of the directory and board. You control whether you appear by toggling listing visibility, and you can unpublish a job at any time.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the providers that make the service work: GitHub (sign-in), Stripe (payments), our email provider (transactional and notification mail), and our hosting and database provider. They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

You can edit or hide your profile at any time, and you can delete your account, which removes your profile, postings, and applications. We may retain limited transaction records where required for accounting or legal reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR and Japan's APPI), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address above.

International transfers

CommitJobs is operated from Japan and uses providers that may process data in other countries. By using the service you understand your data may be processed outside your country of residence.

Children

CommitJobs is not directed to anyone under 18, and you must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
