Terms Of Service

Effective date: 26 June 2026

These Terms govern your use of CommitJobs, a GitHub-gated job board operated by Daisuke Adachi. By signing in or using the service you agree to them. Questions: [email protected].

Who can use CommitJobs

You need a GitHub account to sign in — it is the only way in, and it is how we keep the platform to people who write code. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. One account represents one individual; you are responsible for activity under your sign-in.

How CommitJobs works

One account holds both roles. In looking mode you can list yourself in the developer directory and apply to jobs (free). In hiring mode you can post jobs (paid). You switch between the two at any time.

Acceptable use

  • Keep your profile and postings accurate and your own.
  • No spam, scraping, harassment, impersonation, malware, or unlawful content.
  • No posting roles you are not authorised to hire for, and no discriminatory criteria.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent platform security or access other users' data.

We may suspend or remove accounts, profiles, or postings that violate these Terms.

Listing fees

  • Posting a job requires a one-time listing fee, charged at the moment you publish, processed by Stripe.
  • The fee buys a live window of 30 days. Within that window you can unpublish and republish the listing for free as many times as you like — unpublishing does not consume or shorten the window.
  • Listing fees are non-refundable. Unpublishing early does not entitle you to a refund, because the paid window is preserved for you to relist.
  • After the window lapses, the listing drops off the board and reposting requires a new fee.
  • Looking mode — listing yourself and applying to jobs — is free.

Introductions only — we are not a party to your deal

CommitJobs introduces people who hire and people who get hired. Any engagement, contract, payment, or relationship that follows happens off-platform, directly between the parties. We do not hold funds, provide escrow, guarantee payment, or take a success fee. We are not your employer, agent, or a party to any agreement you reach, and we are not responsible for the conduct, performance, or payment of any user.

No vetting or guarantee

GitHub login confirms a person has a GitHub account; it is not an endorsement. We do not vet identities, skills, postings, or applicants beyond that, and we do not guarantee any hire, response, quality, or outcome. You are responsible for evaluating the people and roles you engage with.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you submit (profile, postings, applications). You grant CommitJobs a non-exclusive licence to host and display that content for the purpose of operating the service.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, CommitJobs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any dealings between users. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the listing fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using CommitJobs and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes

We may update these Terms. When we do, we will update this page and the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
